Laws which prescribe licensure and regulate the practice of professions are enacted under the police powers of this State and are primarily for the protection of the public. The WV Engineering Law regulates the practice of the profession of engineering and is intended for the guidance of persons who seek licensure to practice professional engineering, professional engineers and their firms, public officials who have responsibilities involving engineering matters, and any other person interested in the WV Engineering Law for Professional Engineers.
It is hoped that the information contained herein will be helpful in understanding the substantive and procedural aspects of the Statutory Law and the Legislative Rules under which the Board endeavors to carry out its responsibilities.
